What We Do: Water Management

Bringing Water to Life

If you are responsible for the management of a body of water such as a lake or pond, you will be concerned with water quality for aesthetic, environmental and health reasons.

It may be a body of water with a functional purpose such as a reservoir or one whose purpose is simply to add to the landscape surrounding the built environment.

Osprey Water Management can help maintain water quality, from providing pre-build consultancy to installing equipment as a part of programme of remedial treatment for a foul smelling lake.

Naturally Better

Osprey understands how mass circulation of water allows lakes etc., to absorb oxygen into their eco-systems. By use of aerators, the system is given a natural boost, stimulating aerobic bacteria allowing the body of water to stay healthy, preventing the growth of algae and other invasive organisms.

Aerobic bacteria consume excess nutrients that enter the body of water as run off from turf, agriculture or highways. An excess of nutrients if left untreated stimulates algae growth.

Insects such as mosquitoes thrive in stagnant water in which there are aquatic weeds and scum on which to attach their eggs thus creating a breeding site.

By pumping and circulating water, the process of attaching eggs is made more difficult and also it disturbs the life cycle of any remaining eggs or larvae.

Fountain of Life

Aerating water can be made into a visual experience by the use of display aerators or fountains and adding considerably to any landscape, created or natural.

A wide range of spray patterns are available and in many instances are interchangeable. Patterns vary from horizontal to vertical and in scale, from delicates arches to gusher styles dependent on the application.

Fountain aerators are available for commercial and residential applications and for those in grand settings such as a stately home. Choosing the right system is crucial if the fountain is to be effective in maintaining water quality.

Other benefits dependant on spray pattern may include:

Osprey is able to advise landscape designers on the range of patterns and effects that best complement the visual environment they have created or achieves the specific effect that they have in mind.

Industrial Aeration Systems

These are powerful systems for applications where the movement of high volumes of water is the primary requirement in difficult water management situations. A typical application would in fish farms

Products are available for deep and shallow water applications, effectively recycling water. Sub surface systems are run by powerful onshore compressors whilst floating or surface aerators utilise their own integral pumps and motors.

Quality Guaranteed

All products used by Osprey are renowned for their efficiency and longevity, however difficult the application. High quality materials and components are backed by a quality of advice and service that a have become the hallmark of Osprey Water Management.

Safety First to Last

All systems installed by Osprey tested and approved as a package so that you have peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that you can trust your equipment whilst it is running in water, year in year out.
